    Hello,

I have a home computer network between two computers. I would like to share my media from Windows Media Player 11 with my other computer. The music that I would like to share is the main computer that has the router and all connected to it. I know that under the options in Media Player, under the library tab there is a configure sharing button. I click that, check the "share my media to:" but my other computer connected to the network is not listed. Is there something I have to do with firewall on either computer? Please help.

    Thanks.

You don't mention what firewall application you're using, but in most instances, yes you'll have to allow access. Depending on the firewall, you'll need an 'exception' for Windows Media Player, and also for the Network IP address of each computer.

If you'll tell us which security apps you're running, you'll probably get some more specific advice.

    Sure,

I'll give you my security apps that I'm running. How do I do that?

Please download Trend Micro's HJTInstall.exe to your Windows Desktop.
    • Doubleclick HJTInstall.exe . The application will install by default to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis
    • Click on the Install button. A shortcut icon will be created on your Windows Desktop.
    • When the installation finishes, the HijackThis application will launch.
    • Click on the Open the Misc Tools section button.
    • Make sure that there are no checkmarks in 'List also minor sections' and 'List empty sections' boxes (near the top center).
    • Click on the Generate StartupList log button (near the top left).
    • Click Yes on the next prompt. When the scan is complete, a log file should open in notepad.
    • On the notepad document, click Edit>Select All>Edit>Copy and then paste the contents of the log file into your next reply to this thread.
