Hello, I downloaded Windows media player from microsoft windows update for Windows 2000. Every time the computer boots, media player automatically starts. How can I keep this from happening? Thanks.

Try this. Go to Start > Run > type in msconfig then hit 'ok'. When the GUI opens, click on the 'startup' tab, then uncheck the Windows Media Player in the list. When you reboot, you will be asked if you want to go back to your previous settings...just dismiss that window.
