Windows messenger

    Please how can I get Windows Messenger out of my start menue? When I go to start then startup is says EMPTY ,but it is always there in the bottom right hand corner of the screen!

    Hi gotcha

    Go to start\run type msconfig ok - click startup tab and untick windows messenger - reboot and it wont be there

    Thank you very much for answering my question! However I am sorry to tell you that this is the first time that an answer has not worked for me. I did as you said (I have tried it many times before!) and it worked,I rebooted as it said and messenger had gone BUT as soon as I went onto Outlook Express it came back! Norman

    In OE, go to Tools/Options. On the General tab, uncheck the last checkbox in the top section, "Automatically log on to Windows Messenger". Click OK and your setting is saved. Then, just right click on the Messenger icon in your system tray and choose exit.

    Done.

    Can't seem to find a way to uninstall Windows Messenger? Well, there is a way: Click Start > Run and in the Open: box type the following command (press OK when done):
    RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove
