I get an error message every two to three minutes that says Windows Messenger has encountered a problem and must close. I have already disabled it but nothing works. Can you help?

Have you tried uninstalling it, and then re-installing? Post the error msg here, if that doesn't work.

To get rid of MSN Messenger

    Start / Run
    copy and paste:
    ---------------------
    RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove
    -------------------
    "OK"
    Then re-install

cbrand Please ID the exact messenger program you are having trouble with. There are several and they get confused. MSN, Windows Messenger (which is not really a chat program), AIM (from AOL), and of course Yahoo which can not be confused with anything else.
