I have put together a movie in Windows movie maker. I burned it on a DVD+R and also tried a DVD-R. It plays on the computers(XP and Vista) but it won't play through the DVD player with the tv. We have made the DVDs before and they played on the tv. What could we be doing wrong? What do we need to do to make it work in a DVD player? It was saved as a .wmv. The pictures are jpeg.

It sounds like you didn't convert the video file to video DVD format. Some DVD players will play a variety of video files on a DVD but not all, and some, none.

To get it to work on all DVD players you need to run the resulting WMM file through something like Windows 7 DVD Maker or DVDFlick, which will structure and burn the files needed automatically so a DVD player can read them.
