I need to fix a PC with windows xp on it, the guy wants win98 back on there and has tried to re-install win98. As a result he has created a C:\Windows.000 folder, he has a previous windows 98 installation intact, BUT I cannot get the machine to boot into that folder.... 'c:\windows\win' does not work, any ideas? I really want to avoid formatting.

He has already got rid of XP.

Really appreciate any help.

You'd need to install on different partitions of course (not recommended). Dual Booting is usually for a commercial OS tester.

There's a great tutorial on dual booting at http://ww.pcnineoneone.com

I'd just use on1 (1) operating system if I were you. Too many post after having had troubles with unnecessary partitioning and dual booting.
