    Hello,

I have been told on my PC that I had 9 days until I had to validate my copy of windows. I get a pop up before loggin in saying "Windows must be activated in within ## days. Until then you wont be able to log onto windows. Would you like to activate windows now?"

I clicked yes. and then the Windows Product Activation box pops up and says
"Windows is Already activated. Click OK to continue."

Then my computer activation warning expires on 9-11 and it says I had to activate windows. I get the same message. "Windows is already activated. Click OK to continue." I clicked "OK" and it logs me off. And it's a continuous loop.

Is there anything I can do? I DO NOT want to format and re-install windows I have LOTS of important files on my PC that I do not want to erase. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Yes I have tried in safe mode.
It says windows must be activated with microsoft in regular startup mode.
    Please restart your computer.

    TheOutCaste,

The link you gave me only helps if I can log into windows.

I can NOT log in to windows and it says windows is alredy activated.

There's got to be A way I can do it through the bios or what ever before windows starts.

Phone MS. They can manually activate it for you.
    1-800-Microsoft (642-7676).

You should be able to log in in safe mode to follow those steps even if Windows isn't activated. If not, you'll need to call Microsoft.

    Okay.

    I had another Idea.

What if I dumped my HDD's on A backup hard drive and reinstall windows on my default HDD with the Windows Product key? Would that work?

    Thanks,

    Josh!

A clean install should fix any problems with activation if it's due to corrupt files/registry entries.
