When restarting Windows 98SE, sometimes I get an error message as follows:

    Windows pretecion error
    While initializing device
You need to restart your computer

Before I even write out the top line for reference, the screen "It is now safe to turn off your computer' shows up on it's own?

    Any ideas?

It happens mostly when I change a setting like colour depth, etc. and restart my computer like it prompts me too. Most of the time when I just go to 'Start', shutdown, restart, it reboots fine?

    Thanks for your time.
