    Hi Everyone,

I have an older Gateway desktop with XP.

XP crashed and failed to restart or repair automatically, safe mode would also not engage.

I was able to run a factory restore with saving my files to a back up. However, when XP goes to install from this factory restore I get the following message.

"Windows Setup could not configure Windows to run on this computer's hardware"

I do not have the XP cds, any help please would be super appreciated.

    Thank you,

    James

You can try contacting Gateway and ask them for a restore disk. But XP is old and discontinued., so they may not stock it.

Now's the time to upgrade your computer.
