Hi, i am trying to change the windows start sound. on my older computer im sure i remember being able to select a long wav file to use as the windows start sound, i could get it to play a 3 minute song when i turned on the comp. However i have now built a new comp, and anything i use for a windows start sound will cut out after about 10 seconds. i swear this used to work but now i cant play anything longer than a few seconds! does anyone know what this is??? just want it to play a 30 second sample

    cheers, Elliot

    I encountered the same situation.

Never was able to figure out a solution.

I'll watch this thread with interest.

    Good luck.

wooohooooo :) i read it and the bit about the file size seems to be true. If its more than about 3.7mb then it will cut out but less than that and it will play the whole thing. I took a 40 second sample and lowered the bit rate using wavelab. I reduced it bit by bit until the filesize was 3.5mb. I then selected it to play for windows start sound, restarted my computer and it played the whole thing with no noticable difference in sound quality! Sweettttttttt, thanks 4 that m8 :)
