Windows starts, but no taskbar or desktop icons

Hello all,
I am encountering an issue where windows seems to load and run fine, with the exception that the task bar and any desktop items do not appear (with the exception of my wallpaper). I am able to open task manager and was able to run iexplore through there. I have ran HijackThis and the log is below. If anyone has ANY ideas on what I could do to resolve this it would be greatly appreciated. I am running XP (sp2), but other than that I don't know much off hand. If there are any commands I can run that will get me any info needed just let me know and I'll do that.

Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.

You have or had some Malicious software on your machine. What steps have you taken?

 

Thanks for responding. I downloaded a program called Windows File Explorer that is basically the same as Windows Explorer. I ended up just buying an external hard drive (which I should have had any way) and backing up what I needed and just did a clean install of Windows. Again, thanks for responding though!
