I've tried a few troubleshooting I found on youtube where I cleared the icon cache from reg editor etc and nothing has worked so far. this issue happened when I updated my drivers. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Try going to your GPU manufacturer's web site and download their drivers. They are often better than the ones from MS.

The reason I asked you to go the gpu manufacturer's site to fetch their driver is because you said you updated the driver and then the icons became wrong.

Hello from me too.

What happens if you pin to the taskbar any other program which is not now pinned? Does it have the same appearance?

They work fine i pinned geforce exp to the taskbar and i see the correct logo its just the ones ive prepinned. im not sure but it may also have to do with me having custom icons before i updated my gpu drivers

It may be anything that is causing this issue. I suggest you to unpin everything and pin them again.
