    Hi everyone.

    I noticed I had a windows update (that small globe that appears on the botton right of your screen) so I let it download. When it said it was ready to install, I let it install. During the installation, a Norton window pops up and says that it found a trojan horse virus. Details are:

    object name = c:\winnt\system32\iosdt\iosdt.exe
    virus name = trojan horse
    action taken = unable to repair this file

    Here's a hijackthis log that I ran:

    C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_01\bin\jusched.exe
    C:\WINNT\system32\msiexec.exe
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE

    Hi and welcome to TSG

    Download Pocket Killbox from here:
    http://www.downloads.subratam.org/KillBox.zip
    Unzip the files to the folder of your choice and place a shortcut to the program
    on the desktop.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Click Start > Run > and type in:
    services.msc
    Click OK.
    In the services window find distributed.net client (dnetc) and ZESOFT
    Rightclick and choose "Properties". On the "General" tab under "Service Status" click the "Stop" button to stop the service. Beside "Startup Type" in the dropdown menu select "Disabled". Click Apply then OK. Exit the Services utility.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Copy the BOLD to notepad...save as "fix.reg" save as "Type" *all files*

    REGEDIT4

    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\distributed.net client]

    Double click "fix.reg" and answer "yes" at the prompt to merge.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Reboot into safe mode by following instructions here: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPOR...2001052409420406?OpenDocument&src=sec_doc_nam
    Then as some of the files or folders you need to delete may be hidden do this:
    Open Windows Explorer & Go to Tools > Folder Options.
    Click on the View tab and make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked.
    Also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and untick "hide extensions for known file types" . Now click "Apply to all folders"
    Click "Apply" then "OK"(reverse these steps when your clean!!)
    Double-click on "Killbox.exe" to run it.
    Put a checkmark in "Replace on Reboot" and the "Use Dummy" box.
    Copy/Paste this file(These files) into the top "Full Path of File to Delete" box.
    C:\WINNT\system32\iosdt\iosdt.exe
    Click the "Delete File" button which looks like a stop sign.
    Click "NO" at the Pending Operations prompt to restart your computer.
    Run "fix.reg" once more and then re-boot normally.
    Locate:C:\WINNT\system32\iosdt[Folder]
    and delete it.
    ;)
    Steve, one thing that I noticed is that there is some spyware called bearshare that spybot and adaware won't/can't remove. Do you know how to remove this?
    Once again, thanks for your help.
