Hey guys. Lately my pc has been running verrry slow after a reformat of XP. Today I tried too install Windows Anti virus program (can't remember exact name) and it came up with an error that has too do with windows update. So I boot up the update from the registry and I have one, it's stuck at 0% and isn't going up at all.

Try disabling PeerGuardian and Hotspot Shield.

You seem to have traces of a past AVG firewall removal. Do you have an alternative?

If the AVG firewall is indeed uninstalled, click Start > Run > type CMD

In the Command Prompt, type (or paste): sc delete avgfws9

    Hit Enter.

Type (or paste): sc delete AVGIDSAgent

    Hit Enter.

Reboot the computer and please post a fresh HijackThis log.

You say you just recently formatted the hard drive and did a fresh install of XP?

Did you delete all partitions, create a new C partition, format that partition in the NTFS file system, then install Windows XP in that partition? I'm curious as to why the WINDOWS and Program Files folders are in a D partition. Did you use an actual XP CD?

You've got uTorrent installed and running in the background, so there's obviously been some illegal downloading and installing done and your computer is probably infected.

You've got AVG9 already installed and running in the background, so why would you want to install another antivirus program?

My advice to you is to start over and do the hard drive format and XP install correctly, then use safer computing practices.
