Windows update will not download updates - stuck at 0% downl

    please help with specify;thanks;Everytime I start windows update it won't download the updates. The bar keeps on running but nothing downloads and the percentage stays at 0%.
    Whats wrong? Anything I can do to fix this? windows 7

    Type wuaueng.dll in the search or run box.
    Right-click on that file name, then click Properties, then click the Details tab.
    What's the exact version number?

    If it's older that version 7.6.7601.19161, download and save and then install the KB3138612 update.
    Depending on whether your computer is running the 32-bit(x86) or 64-bit(x64) version of Windows 7, make sure to select the correct download link.
