I need a safe link to the Windows Vista Home Basic, SP 2, OS. I'll need to move the file to thumb drive for installing. I tried another download link and it was virus infected.
Here is a link to a support page on the Microsoft web site. It has links to download pages for 32 bit and 64 bit versions of "Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 and Windows Vista Service Pack 2" for five different languages.
What I suspect Mike is actually looking for is the .ISO file for Windows Vista Home Basic SP2 32-bit or 64-bit so he can create a bootable install disc.
Whoops. You are correct, I may have read Mike's post the wrong way. I found discussions on other forums that seem to agree that there is no download available from Microsoft. Some mention downloads are available from Digital River, which I believe Microsoft has used for downloads. However, the URLs in the link seems to be to digital river sound alike domains.
