Windows Vista SP2 64-bit Users - Please Read!

The previous Windows Vista SP2 64-bit install and update guide no longer works because of the Windows Update app not working.

A new guide has been posted that fixes that problem and was successfully tested twice on November 21, 2020.

For those of you who want to do a clean install and get it completely up-to-date to its April 2017 EOL date, here is the new guide:

Some additional information:

Because the built-in Internet Explorer 9 browser in Windows Vista SP2 is very outdated and will not load and work with most websites, you need to use another supported browser that works and stays up-to-date.
The MyPal browser is what I recommend.
Its current version is 28.16.0 and was released on November 26, 2020.
After it's installed, it's easy to configure its settings to your liking.

More and more security apps and multimedia apps and other apps are dropping support for Windows Vista SP2, so you will discover that many of them will no longer install or will update.
Security apps appear to be the biggest issue, so you need to be careful what you do when you go on-line.
Doing on-line banking and on-line credit card purchases and other things of a sensitive nature is something you should not do.
