Try downloading and installing them manually from Microsoft's website.

If the clean reinstall of Vista you did is the original version and doesn't contain any service pack, you need to download and save and then burn off to CD-R's the full SP1 and full SP2 upgrades.

Once you get the original version installed and then restart the computer, install SP1, then restart the computer again, then install SP2, then restart the computer again.

Once Vista has been upgraded to SP2, you can then go to Windows Updates and install the post-SP2 recommended/important updates.

You probably should start over, since you're currently having problems.

Thank you and i'll try that method of recording to cd-r and see if that fixes the problem. Im just kind of lost as to why when you load the fresh reload of the operating system and windows update is causing so much problems. Any case i'll try your method flavalle and thanks for the advice.

I know I probably have to do an burn sp1 and 2 but since i've fresh install of the vista utimate 32bit once already I would hate to do it again if I can help it. Besides it's not my computer but a family member and trying to help out. The KB937287 is the update that fails to update and the error code below is code:80070570. I know that this kb update is the pre-req before the sp1 and I just cannot get it update it keeps failing. Any great minds here have a suggestion on how to fix this kb update failure other than having to burn the sp1 and 2 to cd?
