I am running windows xp on a Pentium III. I lost access to the help and support page and also to the system restore page. I took everything out and formatted the hard drive. I did a clean install of windows xp. Now I have no sound, have tried all the "solutions" posted and nothing has changed. It shows my sound card, I have the most updated driver and it says it is working correctly. I show no driver conflicts. Also Windows xp will not shut down, I have to hold the power button in for a few seconds before it will shut off. Any help will be appreciated
