Windows XP booting up

    I have a older power spec 1.2mhz with xp.I can't get it to boot up.when it starts on the screen it says press<TAB> to show POST screen or <DEL> to enter BIOS setup.It doesn't move.I can press either button and nothing.I tried putting the xp disk in first then restarting ..nothing there either.any ideals that will help please reply.....thanks

    Sounds like it is not reaching POST.

    Do the keyboard keys light up?
    If the keyboard is not recognised then no keys will work.

    yes the keyboard does light up,I even switched keyboards...........
