I posted earlier about a problem with my dvd-rw. I read somewhere to delete the secondary IDE channel and let windows detect it. I did that, but when i try to install the driver it says
    "Problem installing hardware: hdc
Driver is not intended for this platform"
It now just says unknown device
I'm really annoyed now!

If you're trying to install just the second IDE channel, it won't work. You will need to reinstall the entire IDE controller.

What mainboard and driver are you dealing with?
