Hi,
Every time I go to the Windows Update site, I am told there that I need to download a critical update titled 'Alert: HP Pavilion and Windows XP Service Pack Incompatibility'. It is always the same download, exactly the same size (112KB), and since I can't download any other updates without redownloading that one, I now have it 25 times over - I know because I checked my installation history and counted them. and each had the notation "Successfully installed"
What can I do since if I don't get it each time, I won't know if it's a new one that I actually need?
I'd appreciate any input if you can help me.
Thanks.

Dear putasolution, thank you for your speedy reply.
The update doesn't appear to have an update number, just the alert warning.
The 'read more' link however, refers me to Microsoft KB Article
Q329450. This link to Microsoft simply explains why the patch in question is necessary.
