When I first set up my computer, the desktop icons had normal titles underneath them that were just typed on the background. Now, for some reason (I don't know how or why), the titles are in coloured boxes. I can change the colours of the boxes and of the type in the boxes, but I cannot get rid of the boxes. Please let me know how I can change this and get rid of the boxes. Thanks.

Right click "my computer">>>properties>>>advanced tab>>>visual effects tab>>> untick the box that says "use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop"...hint...it's the next to last box on the list.

    good luck
