I have a gateway mx3560 and just reformatted it.
It is running windows xp SP3

I have a NTSC format DVD which windows cant even read. (Thinks its a blank)
All other dvd functions are normal.

When I insert the dvd into my dell inspiron 1525 running windows 7, it works fine.

    Any idea whats going on?

    First Name:
Video format does not matter (ie: NTSC or PAL). DVD's are region coded. However, even discs from a different region should be recognized by the drive/Windows and you should be able to view the contents.

So if the disc is not recognized, you have a disc or drive issue.
