    Hi all, I hope someone can help. Everytime I go to start my windows xp sp3 media edition computer it keeps looping and doesn't make it to the log on screen. I can't start in safe mode either. When I press F8 at start up and get to system recovery consoul I run CHKDSK / R and everything comes up ok. No new hardware or software has been added. I am not sure if it is a virus or what.

    Thanks

    I checked the ram also and it is ok. I hit F8 on boot and disabled auto restart and this is the Blue Screen Of Death Error Message I get.

    ***Stop: 0x0000007B (0xF798B524,0xC0000034,0x00000000,0x00000000)

    Any ideas?

    Hi PBuotte,

    Try and see whether last known good configuration will get you into Windows.

    1) Restart your computer
    2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
    3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
    4) Select Last Known Good Configuration and proceed.

    Come back and tell me how you got on.
