Just purchased a new computer that has Vista installed. I also had to buy the Office Suite to go along with it because the version I had previously was 2002 which would not work on the new computer.

My question is when I want to transfer documents/money/spreadsheets from XP to Vista will I be able to do this and be able to open them? I will transfer them via my jump drive where I have them stored now. What concerned me was they were all created using XP/Office Suite 2002...

Thank you for any clarification you can give me.

You shouldn't have any problems opening them, what version of Office did you get?

Office 2002 (XP) works just fine on Vista. You didn't need to purchase Office 2007. The files will open, however, on the new version.

Microsoft Works 8. When I was talking to the sales guy they confirmed that 2002 would not work on Vista or it might if I downloaded it - but maybe certain parts would not work correctly. OMG I sure hope I didn't spend money needlessly.

I just looked and it is Microsoft Works Suite 2002..... It does also contain "Word" in that packet.

Also I have a built-in microphone/camera with the new computer. Who can view the webcam if it is turned on? Does whoever I am on with (google/skype) also need a webcam on their computer? I've never had one of those and you can tell I'm stupid when it comes to moving into the "21's Century". Thank goodness I didn't stand in line 2 days to buy one of those new phones that don't work. Just heard that on National News.... Fox.:D
