I was trying to fix my moms computer which was infected/hijacked by viruses. I tried to use combofix, which worked great last time, but I couldn't even go to a website to download it without the virus re-directing me to a BS website; so I saved combofix to a cd on my computer and then used it on my moms computer. After it finished and it saved a copy of the log in notepad the computer just froze. I restarted it and now it keeps freezing during startup. It freezes at the light blue screen that says "microsoft windows XP". I've tried to restart it in safe mode - with and without command prompt, and last known good configuration, and every time it freezes at the same spot. And when I press F2 I get a "windows did not start properly" error message. Also I do not have a windows xp installation disc as XP was pre installed. Please help! I'm not that great with computers so please be very specific. Is there any way to do a system restore from startup?
