windows xp isn't recognizing my 120 gb hdd

    i tried the dual slave/master ,and the cs settings and still no solution,what should i do?

    Hi,

    Does your BIOS recognise the hard disk.

    Have you partitioned and formated the hard disk.

    Please give your operating system

    Is this a USB connected hard drive? it is showing your F: drive as a memory stick in XP. If it is indeed an IDE drive you need to go into your Disk Manager and create a partition and format it.

    Right click my computer then Manage/Storage/Dsik Management and your disk should be there.

    A hard disk needs to be partitioned and formatted before XP can display it as a drive.

    i used Acronis*Disk Director Suite to recover the D (90 gb) portion of my hdd,now i just need the C portion which has all my files from the my documents folder
    if i format it will it erase my files

    yes, i restored my computer a few days ago,then i added another hdd to install windows which is the c drive.
    so now my old c drive is working,but i recovered my d drive
    i posted some new pics,because i'm so confused that i can't even explain it.


    you could check the last pic,it says if do it may erase my files
