Okay, my dad's really ripping his hair out over this. He has recently installed a new hard drive, setting it up as the main HD and installing XP on it. No problems, so far. Now, when he tried to connect to the internet, he got nothing. XP gave him a static IP address that will not work with our subnet. When he tries to give it an IP address that should work, XP either comes up with a 0.0.0.0 IP address, or it reverts to the IP address that it had before. I need answers quickly, he's running out of hair and might start on me!

Never mind, the network card was shot. $5 later and everything was fixed.
