I currently Have 2 PC's, one with windows 2000 and another with 98 on it. I would like to upgrade both of these to XP. I've heard about this new serial number thing with xp, where you have to like call up microsoft with your computer and it takes all the info. My question is, since i have 2 computers will I have to buy 2 copy's of XP or can I just use one for the both of them.
thanks

yes you have to do Product Activation, but you do not have to buy two physical copies from MS to upgrade two of your machines. You can purchase an additional license for about 8 to 12 dollars less than what it would cost for the actual software. Also, MS just announced the family licensing pack, where they give like four license for a cheap price for home users. and you only use one cd. what do you know? lol. hope i helped.
