I was not using it for a little while and when I tried to turn it on recently it said that it could not find my signature for Windows XP and would not log me in. So now I am stuck and can not get in. I went into safe mode and tried to do a system restore and nothing happened. It is an older computer and on its last legs but I gave it some juice so I could play games on it. Anyone know what is going on here. I do not have the exact error number but I can put it on later. Am I screwed?

Welcome to TSG...

If you are talking about the authentication it usually runs out in 30 days. You have to call Microsoft to get it authenticated that is the only way. And if this is an illegal version this is the only directions that you can get.

Thank you very much. I do not think it is authentication. It is some odd error message. I have had and used the computer for over 5 years and never had this problem. It is not a pirated copy or anything like that. It is really odd that is just happened all of the sudden. My computer was on and all of the sudden I got this message.

Please be specific about the "odd" error message, it helps us to help you. ;)
