Windows XP SP2 Hangs after login. (Never gets to desktop)
I have disabled all non-microsoft programs at boot. (A trick a learn't when I got my MS Cert. Pro). I have tried scf /scannow, however it won't work as I have a "gold" SP1a CD not a SP2.
And sfc may not fix the problem. I can't slipstream a SP2 cd as this box I am working on, by policy I cannot use other "stuff" from other systems. (Security Reasons) I hope you understand why.

Open Task Manager after you login (considering you can even do this) and see what processes are running and what might be causing the lock up after the login. Also, look and make sure explorer.exe is under the Processes tab. If not, trying starting a new process and starting explorer.exe. See if this takes care of the problem.
