I had an issue where I couldn't download SP2 of WinXP because it said that it was already downloaded, but it wouldn't run either. I fixed that issue by deleting files in the

    C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore
    C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\Download

directories. I was then able to re-download and start the installation process. Now it hangs when it says that its inspecting the current configuration. I have let it run almost 2 hours before stopping the process. Any ideas why this may be happening?

    thanks
