    First Name:
Windows XP begins loading but takes over an hour to start. What could possibly be the problem?

Have you checked to see if you have unnecessary processes running? Go to Start>Run, type msconfig and click on Startup Tab to see how many boxes are checked. There is also a good software called The Ultimate Troubleshooter http://www.answersthatwork.com/TUT_pages/TUT_information.htm it has a trial version or you can buy for $29.95. I have found it to be very good.
