i had to reinstall windows on a new hard drive because of space problems
it partioned the new hard drive and restarted, but now wont boot up
so i tried the boot disk, and it wont even give option to boot from boot disc
it use to give option to boot from disc but it would look at hardware and software setting and just stop.
i dont know what to do it just wont do anything any more
im afraid i may have killed it :(

do you still have windows on old drive? Maybe it will boot. Have you tried tapping f8 while starting? Or what ever key will get you to boot order screen.

Are you installing XP? Do you have a full XP CD? How did you format the drive since that is part of setup?

Is the drive recognized correctly in BIOS setup?

i tried changing the boot order so the hard drive was first but it went to black screen and did nothing
