Interestingly enough (is it?) I just read your post and there is a window cleaner working in my office. So I just asked him. Answer from a pro. - Use clean water with a little washing up liquid in it (very little) - wash the window with a sponge - use a professional squeegee - start at the top of the window and squeegee across it turning to start the next row across as you reach the frame - wipe the squeegee with a clean cloth and complete the row to the other frame, truning to start the next row - wipe the squeeqee and work down to the bottom of the window. Never use paper on a window and never use a liquid window cleaner containing ammonia. If you get streaks, start all over again until you get the tecnique correct.

Never cleaned a window in my life, so no hands-on experience.

Thanks everyone. It seems a lot of people recommend using vinegar/water mix with newspaper which I 've never heard of so I am going to give it a try.

The one thing you have to remember is do not use an excessive amount of vinegar cuz if you do your car ( or the inside of your house ) will smell like a pickle for a while. :D

My understanding the best ratio to use is 1/4 vinegar and 3/4 water, do you agree?
