All of a sudden my games (that have been running fine up to now) are stuttering & slowing down -When I run Windows XP Task Manager (after shutting down all running programs & applications) - "System Idle Process" shows 90 - 99 CPU resources available - However- At the bottom of the Task Manager Window it shows an average of 70% CPU Usage - I have run all diagnostic utitilities - uninstalled all likely culprit programs. drivers . etc - all to no avail - please advise- Thank You In Advance . jughedd

You could have ad ware or some other kind of nastie so run "Adaware" first then "SpyBot S&D" and remove all they find.

First please get Spybot S&D to clear out most of the spyware.

Short tutorial and download link here:
    http://tomcoyote.org/SPYBOT/

Fix everything SpybotSD labels in red.

    Then after reboot:
    Download 'Hijack This!'. http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/
Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log, load it in Notepad, and copy its contents here. Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.

I have run AdAware , Spybot S&D . Norton AV & use ZoneAlarm (all with latest updates). I will try HijackThis! . Unfortunately, during the work week, I won't be able to spend time working on this - so, please don't give up on me if I don't post for a while! I appreciate your help & will get back to you. Thank you , Jughedd

Redownload hijack to its own folder so it can create backups from deleting items. Then rescan with it and put a check next to this then click"fix checked"
