When I boot up my pc...I get a "WinLogon.exe" ERROR.
I did a search on it....and I read that one should only be concerened...if that file is located anywhere else other than in your C:\WINDOWS\system32. So i did a Search on the pc, and it was the only location it found.
One other weird thing....I was running a 'Ad-aware SE Personal' scan, and immediately it detects " (4) Modules Identified "...and then that "WinLogon.exe" ERROR appears...and then (I guess its called my 'theme') changes to something totally different, then the pc Restarts...strange!!!!
Any assistance on this would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!

go to here and download 'Hijack This!' self installer. Save it to the desktop or other suitable place. DO NOT just press run from the website Double click on the file and it will install to C:\program files\hijackthis and create an entry in the start menu and an optional shortcut on desktop.
Click on the entry in start menu or on the desktop to run HijackThis
Click the "Scan" button, when the scan is finished the scan button will become "Save Log" click that and save the log.
Go to where you saved the log and click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" then Paste the log back here in a reply.
It will possibly show issues deserving our attention, but most of what it lists will be harmless or even required,
so do NOT fix anything yet.
Someone here will be happy to help you analyze the results.

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.

    * Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
    * Put a check next to Run VundoFix as a task.
    * You will receive a message saying vundofix will close and re-open in a minute or less. Click OK
    * When VundoFix re-opens, click the Scan for Vundo button.
    * Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
    * You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
    * Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
    * When completed, it will prompt that it will shutdown your computer, click OK.
    * Turn your computer back on.
Post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt as well as a new HijackThis log

    Hello again dvk01....
I ran the VundoFix and it detected around 8-10 different things. (dll's). I was not able to find the Log File. It was not under C:\vundofix.txt or under any Program Files. I even did a search for (vundofix.txt) and did not fing anything...hmmm!!
Anyway, I fixed everything and then ran another HijackThis. (see attached).
I am no longer getting that 'einlogon.exe' ERROR :)

Please let me know what you think about the HijackThis Log...
    Thx again!!

looks like it got it then

Turn off system restore by following instructions here
    http://www.online-tutorials.com/folder9/920.htm
That will purge the restore folder and clear any malware that has been put in there. Then reboot & then re-enable sytem restore & create a new restore point.

go here http://forums.techguy.org/t208517/s.html for info on how to tighten your security settings and how to help prevent future attacks.

and pay an urgent visit to windows update & make sure you are fully updated & get the bunch of new updates that are alleged to plug the security holes that let these pests on in the first place

go to www.java.com & download the latest version of java 1.5.0.6

install it & then go to add/remove programs and UNINSTALL ALL previous versions of sun java
