I have finally got my PC to s
"see" my old HDD however I now get this error:
Entry point Assoc is Dangerous.. dynamic link library missing SHLWAPI.DLL.
I found the page explaining this in MS support but I'm unsure of what something means in the how to fix thing.
In the Resolution section it says to restart in the recovery console and replace the damaged DLL files.
1. Use the XP setup start-up disk - Since I don't have a floppy I have to use the Win XP. Pro CD.
2. At the "Welcome to set-up screen press R then C to start Recovery Console.
3. Type the appropriate Windows XP installation. then password.
What is the appropriate installation??

As always any help will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Jac

try this first,

Go to start | Run

Type in regsvr32 SHLWAPI.DLL

restart your PC

See if the error still occurs

Will this work if type this and then put the other HDD in because I can't get further than the error with the old HDD in. This sure would be easier. There are a few things on the old HDD that I would like to recover or I would just reformat the darn thing! ;)
