A friend of mine has winme and connects via Charter cable. If she logs off the internet the only way she can connect again is to reboot. It's a compaq, any suggestions

Well, I wasn't going to say anything because I didn't have much to say. I too have cable connection and this logoff thing confused me. You don't log on my cable....it's always on. I tried to "log off" by File>work offline in IE and I'm don't think that works, because I never lost my connection. I tried just now in the middle of this post.

I would suggest she call her cable tech section. Again, I have always thought cable connected to the ISP whenever you turn on you 'puter.

By the way, brindle....Maggie's Farm should be right next to Maggie's house.
