WinME Startup default to a drive

    I am using a Sager laptop. Starting approximately one month ago whenever I power off, and disconnect the power supply, the next time I power up the default start-up drive is A drive. I have to enter control, alt, S to change the starup drive to C. Even when I save on exit, this occurs again when power is disconnected.

    Sounds like the CMOS battery is dead, may need to change it...


    Not familiar with a Sager laptop, so can't tell you where it is at...

    does that cmos thing apply to desktops too?

    Yes, if after powering down the settings are lost, or reset, then the CMOS is loosing it's settings ( more than likely due to the battery )...
