i have a file that tries to access the internet but my firewall disables it. it is called "WinWildApp.exe" and "WIN.exe" is right below it on the list. i tried to delete them in the souce file but they were back again after i restarted my computer. and my computer has been having some problems as of late. i would like to know what this is and if it is a virus, how to get rid of it.

    Hi and welcome to TSG,

Please download and run the following programs.

    AD-AWARE

    Go here: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/
    and download Ad-Aware 6 Build 181

Install the program and launch it.

First in the main window look in the bottom right-hand corner and click on Check for updates now and download the latest reference files.

Make sure the following settings are made and on -------ON=GREEN

From main window: Click Start then Activate in-depth scan (recommended)

Click Use custom scanning options then click Customize and have these options selected: Under Drives and Folders put a check by Scan within archives and below that under Memory and Registry put a check by all the options there.

Now click on the Tweak button in that same window. Under Scanning engine select Unload recognized processes during scanning and under Cleaning Engine select Let windows remove files in use at next reboot

Click proceed to save your settings.

Now to scan just click the Next button.

When the scan is finished mark everything for removal and get rid of it. (Right click the window and choose select all from the drop down menu and click Next)

    Restart your computer

Download and run: SPYBOT SEARCH & DESTROY, here:

    http://download.com.com/3000-2144-1...tml?tag=lst-0-1

Open Spybot Search & Destroy (Click Start, Programs, Spybot S&D (Advanced Mode). Click online, Search for updates, Download all available updates. Close all Browser windows, Click ''Check for Problems'', Put a check in every entry Spybot Search & Destroy flags with a red exclamation mark and click ''Fix Selected Problems'' , Then restart your computer.

Download both of these for added protection: SPYWAREBLASTER & SPYWAREGUARD, here:

    http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

Once you've done all that, download HIJACK THIS, scan and post the saved log here for an expert to take a look at as I’m not qualified to analyze the log.

Please do this. Click here: http://www.sherrylynn.us/HijackThis.exe to download Hijack This. Save it to it’s own folder (not temporary files or the desktop).

Close all open windows and open HIJACK THIS. Click “Scan”. When the scan is finished (it only takes a second), the scan button will change to “Save Log”. Click on “Save Log” and save it to NotePad. Copy the entire log and paste it here.

DO NOT FIX ANYTHING YET, most items that appear in the log are harmless or even needed. Wait for someone to analyze the scan and advise.

I believe I have a similar problem to the one with winwildapp. I found you in my very long search to rid my computer of some files that appears whenever I run my norton antivirus scan (after a complete spybot and ad-aware fix). I removed winwildapp from my software registry, and at least that program is no longer appearing, but I still have the following problems. After a Norton Antivirus scan, it fails to delete the following files:

    C:\RECYCLED\DC1.DLL - delfin
    C:\RECYCLED\DC0.DLL -delfin
    C:\RECYCLED\DC2.EXE - statblaster
    C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\update_1.exe - statblaster
    C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe - security risk

I followed the instructions you gave the kevw25 (adaware, spybot, spyblaster and a hijack this log) and would like to ask you to look at my hijack this log as well. This is my first post, so if there is something else I should be doing, please let me know. My operating system is windows / 98. I have tons of junk installed on my computer as I have used it through several different jobs and many years.

Please run Hijack This again and put a check mark beside these entries, then click "fix":

Did you have the MyWay program and toolbar as well? If so, go to Control Panel and Add/Remove programs and remove it if it's there.

Then locate the MyWay folder and delete it as well.

Delete the files in your temporary folder (not the folder itself) and everything in Internet temporary files and empty your recycle bin.

In the future, if you have a problem, please start a new thread because tacking onto another thread you risk getting overlooked.

    Good luck.
