hi, I purchased a satellite laptop with xp installed that had a free upgrade . upon installimng the upgrade i lost sound and had many compatability probs with hardware and other programs. I now wish to remove vista and go back to xp. All advice seems top suggest I need original disks. xp was factory installed and I only have the vist upgrade. Can anyone help ? please. I am in India and cannot get back to England to repair.

    Back up ur stuff...

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...=1&q=backup+contents+to+disk+in+vista&spell=1

    http://www.microsoft.com/protect/yourself/data/storage.mspx

    to a disk of course.....

    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/home/howtobuy/default.mspx

    http://www.google.com/products?q=bu...com.microsoft:*&um=1&sa=X&oi=froogle&ct=title

follow those links, buy xp CD...

    re-format...then install the xp disk....

OR...im not sure how the upgrade works..but if you can, try after backing up your files...do a full factory recovery of your system.....see if it'll be back to XP...

    check this link out also...
