Installed a new motherboard and XP refuses to load. It reaches the loading screen and the computer restarts. I'm guessing it maybe something to do with XP trying to load old motherboard drivers and it crashing cos of that.

I have a WinXP cd... what can I do to fix this? Preferably something that doesn't need the recovery console - I've forgotten the password for admin user account.

Thanks

I'ld reinstall fresh... with a new MB you almost always have new drivers across the board and even if you can "salvage" this install you may find it runs flakey due to having been installed with 2 different MB's.
