My computer is driving me crazy, it is way slower than it should be, I get errors all the time, pretty much nothing works like it should. So I thought I would wipe my hard drive and reinstall windows. I got my windows disk out and it asked me for the serial number, I looked everywhere and I cannot find my s/n. I don't even know what its on. I have a dell 4500 and I have the owners manual out, but it doesn't have the serial number in it anywhere. I have reinstalled windows once before, but I don't remember where I put the s/n. I know its on that certificate of authenticity, but I have no idea what the c of a is on. I have a bunch of paper cd cases from dell that have the driver cd's but I can't find the one the windows disc came in. I have been looking on the internet for a way to recover the s/n, and I found one place that said it could be done, but you had to pay for the answer, so I came here. Is there any way that I can recover my serial number, and if not, could someone at least tell me what to look for, if the s/n is in a manual or on a disc case? I promise I have a legal copy, if I didn't I would just use one of the hundreds of serials I found on the internet, but I want to use the one that came with my computer so I don't run into any problems. If anyone knows of anything to help me out please let me know, Thanks.
