Also Im not to sure if you guys would know but recently I got a new modem from my cable company
    http://www.hitron-americas.com/product/coda-4582/

I been getting increased wifi speeds but my wired speed has went down
I have 100 dl and 11up speed and wired im only getting 50 dl.

I called my cable company and they ran test on there end and they found nothing wrong and I exchanged the modem

What could be causing this problem with my ethernet port I even changed my settings to 100 full duplex
could it be that it is a faster modem?

Any help or advise would be great
    Thanks

You're better off leaving this on Auto.

What did you use for the speed test check? Have you connected the modem via a router or is it an all-in-one device, i.e. modem & router? How many devices are connected to it?

If the ethernet device settings window in the Device Manager has a "1.0 Gbps Full Duplex" setting, try that one instead of "100 Mbps Full Duplex" or "Auto".

If that doesn't help, leave it on "Auto" as suggested.

i used my cable companies speed check web site

I was getting 100 dl before (wired) now I getting 50 -60 Dl

and nothing else is hooked up to the network

my computer is 5yrs old and the network card is a realtek PCIe FF

its only capable 100 full duplex for the highest setting

If it's a fast ethernet device instead of a gigabit ethernet device, you're correct about "100 Mbps Full Duplex" being the best that it can do.
