Hi I'm using Win XP sp1 fresh install (fresh because i reformated it thinking that would help the problem), my wireless adapter connects me to my network but no internet connection. I have tried using both WIN xp zero config and and the software that came with my card. I have bought another adapter and it does the same thing. I have tried reinstalling em and and switching slots. My network has wep key and I put that in as suposed to and it connects but no internet. I have used a laptop wirelessly and it works fine so it is my Pc that is the problem. My ip is worng. I have tried using the repair option in Win xp Zero Config. It says failed to renew IP. I definetly need an expert for this. otherwise plz post here.

    HELP ME....
PS. I have Linksys WMP54GR range extender and wireless LAn PCI Edimax card EW-7128G that i just bought: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16833315041

Wireless works better with Windows XP SP2 installed, I'd suggest you update to SP2. SP2 can be manually downloaded and burned to CD to transfer to the problematic computer.

Also, even though another system works with the wireless you may want to reset the router and disable any custom wireless settings. Once it works then you can re-enable WEP.

    1. I would recommend taking off your emai lfrom your 1st post using the edit button (some people like to spam)

    2. Try using a wired connection, to see if its your ip configuration utility.

    3. This should work. Unplugg all routers/modems. Shut down your computer. Turn on the routers/modems, and wait for them to do their startup processes. then boot up your compter. This should give you the correct ip address. And also try disabling the xp 0 config, I just think that its a horrible service, and use your configurator that came with your adapter.
