    Hello,

I am facing a very peculiar problem, i.e. my wireless network connection comes and goes every minute while I chat through gtalk or skype, especially video chat, only text chatting takes a bit longer to get disconnected. Then, I need to reconnect manually or sometimes, it comes back on its own.

But my roommates do video-chatting in skype without any issue. 3 of us are sharing the same wireless network. Then, I tried to connect through wired LAN connection, it works fine, hardly gets disconnected.

While I watch any streaming video through youtube, netflix etc, it works fine. I am clueless about this frustrating problem

I would really appreciate if anyone can help me overcome this issue.

I think changing the wireless channel may help - but i cannot see the xirrus screen shots very well to make out the channels - it appears a lot more strong signals appeared when it disconnects and i suspect if on the same or a near channel is the cause

post a better image - so we can see the channel numbers

lets see the following ping tests when working and again when disconnected

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Ping Tests
If you cannot access the internet with this PC, then you will need to paste the results into something like notepad and then copy onto a machine that can access the internet and post results here

Start> Run {search bar in Vista/W7}> CMD to open a DOS window and type:

    Type the following command
    Ping {plus the number thats shown against the default gateway shown in above ipconfig /all}
    Post back the results
    rightclick in the box
    select all
    enter
control key + C key - to copy
    then reply here and
control key + V to paste

    Type the following command
    Ping google.com
    Post back the results
    rightclick in the box
    select all
    enter
control key + C key - to copy
    then reply here and
control key + V to paste

    Type the following command
    Ping 209.183.226.152
    post back results
    rightclick in the box
    select all
    enter
control key + C key - to copy
    then reply here and
control key + V to paste

wireless channel may be OK - and as the others do not get knocked off - it may not be interference - are you 100% noone else has the problem

goto device manager and uninstall the adapter and then reboot the pc and let windows re-detect the adapter
also your dell has service tag number printed on it - use that on this site
    http://support.dell.com/support/index.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~ck=mn
choose Drivers & Downloads - then see if you can find an update driver
otherwise post back the tag number and we can find the link for you
