Wireless high speed question

Hi. I am having wireless high speed installed. All I have ever used in the past was dialup.
On dialup, I was able to download at 5.2 kbs. How many kbs will I get with wireless ?
Here is what it says about the wireless speed :
"Our residential service is 1.0 Meg download and 250 kbps upload, or about 20 times faster than dial up to download."

So if it is going to be 20 times faster then my dialup that means it would be 5.2x20=104kbs.
Wouldn't 1.0 meg download speed be 1000 kbs ?

What would the correct kbps be that I will get ?
Thanks !

Usually B (upper case) is used for Bytes and b (lower case) is used for bits. That's what starcab was saying.

Residential DSL ranges from, I think, about .5Mbps to 5Mbps. Some outfits offer different service for different cost. Distance from central office also affects the bandwidth.

If you were downloading at 5.2kbps, you had a lousy phone connection and will think that your new service is faster than light. :) If you meant downloads of 5.2kBps, that's pretty decent for dial-up, but you'll still like the wireless assuming it works pretty much as advertized.
