    http://forums.techguy.org/networking/1011869-wireless-suddenly-stopped-working-my.html
My old thread, I decided to just re-post as the old one was cluttered.

I've swapped the card itself, swapped the whole LED board (the board with the power button, wireless button, etc)
    Nothing seems to work..

I was running Windows 7, and just switched back to Windows XP, SP3.

Help is very very greatly appreciated, thanks in advance..

just a guess, sounds like the specific touch button is not connecting, so it wont recognize it, hardware prob

I've swapped the touch button board entirely with one that worked on the exact same model laptop.
I don't see how this could be the problem. Unless I'm not correctly understanding you?

Sounds like the motherboard is to blame here if you have replaced the wifi card.

    To confirm:

Comp A with wifi card A = Wifi not working (the original computer)

You swapped wifi card A with wifi card B from computer B so you now had:

Comp A with wifi card B and
comp B has wifi card A

Did both computers show the same symptoms or did Comp A (original computer) show the same issue? Did Comp B work with wifi card A?

    (if that make sense)

Unsure, as Comp B doesn't allow me to do anything, since my serial is invalid and I don't really have time to mess with things, all I know is that the wifi light comes on in Comp B, with any combination of components plugged into it.
I'm going to try swapping HDD's and see if it works..

try swapping motherboards too if you can; it's more of a hardware issue than anything

That may be a little more difficult task, as I don't have a clue how to do that, last time I completely took a laptop apart, it didn't go back together, lol..
The screen on Comp B is broken, would it be easier to swap the screen than the mobo?

I would say that would be easier too :) it's been a long time since i repaired a laptop from the ground up. Last one was an Acer Extensa... circa 1998. :D
